What is Feng Shui? (Preview)
The name Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Shway) means wind and water. It is the ancient Chinese art of placement. Basically the intent is to harness the earth’s natural energies to create harmonious living conditions and balance. Taken into account are the environment, places, people, time and interactions of all. Feng Shui dates back to about 618 AD. It was taken from ancient Chinese texts, one of these called the I Ching (pronounced ee jing). Some of you may have seen the books or cards used today, or representations of trigrams. It is actually an ancient form of divination.
